A consortium of
five nations – France, Belgium, Spain, Italy and Iran – that built the
EURODIF uranium enrichment plant in the Tricastin district of south central
France. Each year after 1982,
it was planned to make available 10.8 million separative work units.
Some 23,000 separative work units are necessary to enrich the 300
tons needed for the first charge of fuel for a 1,000-MW reactor.
EURODIF went into operation in 1979.
